Community Council May and July 1981
From Moriston Matters, Issue 25, August 1981.
Report on Community Council meetings held on 19th May and 7th of July.
There was a request by councillors that a letter of commendation be sent to RJ McLeod limited on the very efficient way in which they undertook the construction of the new section of the road.
It was reported that the playing fields at Invermoriston where not cut as regularly as other areas because it requires bigger cutting gear. Within a few years it will be compatible with other areas and will use the same equipment.
Attention was drawn to a large pool of water which gathered at the end of the bridge Invermoriston and this has been rectified.
It was also brought to the attention of the Community Council that there is a dangerous bend in the road just west of Achlain Farm. The Community Council gala day is going to be held in Fort Augustus on the 8th of August where there will be entertainment for all the family.
