Murdo Fraser
From Moriston Matters, Issue 25, August 1981.
We regret to record the death of another worthy senior citizen Murdo Fraser on May 30th. Although a native of Kiltarlity, Murd, a woodcutter all his life spent a number of years in the glen, coming first to work with Alec Cowie at Bhlaraidh, and remaining with Alec MacPherson, and later, when he lived at Altsaigh with Rab Smeaton. When he left the forests he moved to the Clansman Hotel where he attended to the petrol pumps. An unobtrusive man, he carried out his work diligently without troubling anyone, retaining his smart appearance and fresh complexion, belying his 87 years. He is survived by a son, Simon in Canada and a married daughter, Sybil, in Liverpool.
