Mrs Marion MacDonald who died 18th March lived latterly in Strathoich, Fort Augustus, but always retained warm memories of her stay at Torgoyle where she kept a lovely garden. Since the death of her husband, Duncan, some years ago, she was less able to get about, but appreciated visits from her friends for whom she had a warm-hearted affection, although her indignation could be fiercely aroused by anything she considered to be an injustice. However, with the passing of the years these strong feelings mellowed. Her love of animals was well known and they were her constant companions. With her passing one more link with the old Highland families and a way of life has gone - a way of life that nonetheless remains, woven into the fabric of the community.
