Agnes MacNab
From Moriston Matters, Issue 19, June 1980.
Mrs. Agnes McNab (Nabby) came to Invermoriston in 1955 when her husband retired from his job as an engineer with the jute mills in Calcutta and Dundee, and soon fitted happily into the life of the community. She joined the W.R.I. and the Woman's Guild and faithfully attended the meetings, deriving great pleasure from all the social occasions of village life. She was also a loyal member of the Church of Scotland congregation - always first in her place on Sunday morning - although her previous connection had been with the Baptist Church where she learned the thrill of hearty singing. She also served the congregation by looking after the church for several years and by playing the organ for the Sunday school for many years. We missed her, and she often said how much she missed Glenmoriston, when she went to live with her daughter in Dornoch two years ago. There she found the care she needed as she began to be aware of her eighty-odd years taking their toll.
To Chrissie and her family, and to George, now retired in Wales from the Merchant Navy, and his family we offer our sympathy.
