Short biography of the son of the Patrick Grant, the eighth laird of Glenmoriston. A Lieutenant in one of the Highland regiments raised by Government for service in Canada, he was a member of the executive and legislative council of Upper Canada, and for nearly fifty years Commodore of the fleet on Lake Erie.
